Did You Aspire To Be An Elder Or Did You Want A Relative or Friend To Be One?
by minimus inif you were a male growing up in the congregation, it was expected that you would "reach out" for a position in the hall.
some of us did just that and others didn't want any "privileges"!.
i knew some people, especially "sisters", that really wanted their relative or good friend to be appointed so they might "change things".

No! I dreaded it from childhood even before the elder arrangement.

At what age should women stop wearing tight jeans!?
by journey-on ini'm at the grocery store.
walking ahead of me is this woman with a really nice butt in really tight jeans, small waist, nice hair.
(yes, guys, even us women notice other women's butts:-) she stops at the dairy section, turns around and i swear she is 60 if not older!

I know a woman of almost 70 who is still really great looking. Really good figure. My wife who could lose a few pounds looks so much better in her tight jeans.

For Those Who Married "in the truth"
by Magwitch inhow did you meet your mate (convention, local hall)?

I had a "worldly" girlfriend who wasn't interested in the "truth" when I met the sister who was to become my wife. The "worldly" girlfriend wanted to live together and I wanted to stay a JW so it wasn't on. I was tired of dating, falling in love etc. and my wife chased me so we married in less than a year. I was mid twenties. We never had chaperones on dates. An elder asked to speak with me at one meeting as I had been seen coming out of the sister's flat late at night. I told him I'll make sure nobody sees me next time and walked away. We've been married 25 years.

john 14: 6 - jesus answered, "i am the way and the truth and the life.
no one comes to the father except through me.. according to this scripture the guy's sharpy message was correct.. do you believe this message?.

My brother died from becoming an alcoholic. I wasn't a good influence on him. I broke my front teeth in half in a fight I don't remember. Drive home and collapse on the floor wake up in the bathroom, why am I here. ect. I still drink. But I control it. If you've never been drunk I wouldn't recommend it.

What's the saddest movie you've ever seen?

it may not be the saddest but it's up there.

Ynot,
It's a while ago I saw the movie. My impression was that sometimes in life you meet the person you should be with but it will never happen in this life or the next. Maybe that's not what it was supposed to be about but that's how I felt when I'd seen it.
